Ijaaz Ebrahim talks about his tryst with films
Ijaaz Ebrahim was recently seen in Harisree Ashokan’s debut directorial “An International Local Story”, and his portrayal of the negative shaded Krishnan in the film was noteworthy. In a recent interview, he talked about how he chanced upon films, as he gears up for a Malayalam debut.
Ijaaz said that his love for movies dates back to when he was just 6 years of age. He was born in Edappal a small town in Malappuram district into an Orthodox Islam Family in Edappal as the son of M.V Iqbal and his wife Nisha Iqbal. He completed his secondary level education from The Ushus Senior Secondary School in Edappal. While studying in second standard Ijaaz started to act in dramas and skit’s. then later he appeared in several short films like “Paisa, Sunday, Pain Of Lust” etc… which was very notable on YouTube.
After he completed his secondary level of education he decided and moved to Bangalore and received a bachelors degree in business management from The University of Bangalore.
His passion later took him to Kochi and started Working as an online promoter for the Malayalam films, But his dream was to be an actor. He also received several awards for the best online promoter for his works in some successful movies like “Joseph”, “Njan Prakashan” etc.. from long years Ijaaz was having good friendship between actor Arjun Ashokan who is the son of Harisree Ashokan.
Ijaaz say’s that “Arjun was knowing my craze on movies as well. one day Arjun asked me to send some of my pictures to him, later i got a call from an associate director who work for Ashokanchettan (Harisree Ashokan), and said that Arjun shown your pictures and suggested you to play a lead role in An International Local Story, so please come Cochin for the audition”. After Ijaaz applied for the audition and got included in to the casting list. Then he got to play his debut role called ‘Krishnan’ the younger version of Tini Tom in the movie.
“I am a big fan of Fahadh Faasil, I used to watch every movies of him and I have inspired a lot from Fahadh’s acting” said Ijaaz.
He has also been involved in several social service activities. In addition, he is the founder and CEO of two online movie news publishing companies called Oolas Media and Mollywood Mad Pvt Ltd.
